Remember ANZACs in ‘driveways’

WHILE ANZAC Day commemorations and marches have been cancelled, Cumberland RSL Sub Branch president Greg Read says executive committee members will still lay wreaths at memorials and say the RSL Ode on April 25.

He says they will abide by social distancing restrictions.
“We will be encouraging our members to stay at home and be safe,” he said.
“We will posting monthly newsletters to our members and asking them to stand in their driveways on ANZAC Day 2020 at 11am with an Australian flag and complying with all the health advice we are given.”
Mr Read says emergency food care bags will be directly distributed to elderly members including homeless veterans, but all other events and general members meetings have been cancelled until June 30.
