Record number of new arrivals enjoy SACA Annual Iftar Dinner

A RECORD crowd of over 200 filled Auburn Town Hall for the second Somali Australian Community Association’s (SACA) Annual Iftar Dinner last Saturday.

With attendees representing a wide range of cultures, they enjoyed a traditional feast at the event which was a youth-driven initiative.
“A huge thank you to our volunteers as well as our friends at Penny Appeal Australia, Alfirdaus College, Wise Choice IHC and MCCA Islamic Finance and Investments who supported us every step of the way,” SACA president Maryan Omar said.
“We have many exciting programs and are open to all members of our culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities.
“Through events like this we seek to overcome barriers and prejudices in attempting to understand and connect with all members of our multicultural society. This is the beauty about living in Australia.”
