Record number of men registering to play Netball4All in mixed teams

WITH a record rate of men playing in mixed teams, Netball4All director Ann Maree Kopos said that as well as playing in teams with their partners and families, men registering corporate and mate teams were also on the rise.

She said over 90 teams had enjoyed this past Spring season played at Wyatt Park in Auburn on Mondays and Thursdays, 6.30-9pm.
No longer considered just a winter sport, the mental and physical benefits of netball can now be enjoyed all year round thanks to the Netball4All program.
“It’s very relaxed and friendly,” Kopos said.
“For the one off rego fee of $25 a player as well as a team rego fee of $945 (10 players), we supply the umpires, balls and bibs; you don’t have to wear a uniform and there are no training days either.
“Some people even play in more than one team for that added boost of fun and exercise.”
She said a lot of players who hadn’t played since school were registering and there were plenty of teams this year with sisters and brothers playing alongside each other.
“There are not too many team sports where you can do this and our families are loving it,” she said.
