Recommends greyhound adoption for loving pet ideal in house or unit

GREYHOUNDS have rapidly become one of the most popular pets in country, and you can rarely walk the suburban streets without coming across someone with a collar and lead on one of these animals.

That’s because they have so much going for them, according to Kingsgrove greyhound owner Sharna Campbell.
Adopting ‘Tia Maria’ a year ago, she said it was one of the best decisions she’s made as greyhounds are so affectionate by nature, as clean as a cat and very low maintenance.
She said they shed very little, carry next to no doggie odour and with no undercoat are less likely to trigger allergies.
“I live in a unit but that’s fine for my dog, we go for a 20-minute walk every day and that’s enough for her,” Sharna said.
“She sleeps quite a lot, as all greyhounds do, so they are the perfect for house or unit living and she rarely barks.”
When adopting with GAPNSW (Greyhounds As Pets), an expert greyhound team is just a phone call away if you need any advice or support.
Adoption costs for GAP Greyhounds are $250, and includes a dog that is vet-checked, vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, intestinally wormed, heart-worm treated and lifetime registered with the council
