Ratepayer to cough up shortfall

RESIDENTIAL ratepayers could be forking out an extra $11 to generate additional $1.35m to help Cumberland Council maintain essential service delivery, as well as to maintain its infrastructure to a satisfactory standard.

Council has applied to IPART for a permanent additional special rate variation of 1.3 per cent to accommodate a $1.35m shortfall.
The average increase would be $11 for residential and $99 for businesses ratepayers.
