Range of Clean Up sites on offer

HELPING to mark the 30th anniversary of Clean Up Australia Day, members of the Auburn Islamic Community Centre (pictured) will collect rubbish in and around the Duck River in Auburn on Sunday, March 1, from 10am to 2pm.

Meeting in the Community Picnic Area at the Auburn Botanic Gardens, they will follow their clean up efforts with a free sausage sizzle, as well as face painting and art and crafts for children. Register via text, 0420 722 278.
Other community Clean Up Australia Day events on Sunday, include Auburn Civic Park from 10am; Bangor Street in Auburn from 10.30am-12.30pm; the PCYC Auburn at Church Street Lidcombe from 8.30-9.30am; and Cumberland Council is also hosting a clean up at Granville Park in Merrylands from 7.30-10.30am.
Clean Up Australia provides each registered site supervisor with waste bags and promotional materials upon registration, as well as essential equipment such as syringe containers, gloves, high vis vests and basic first aid kits.
