Competing in difficult conditions at The Ridge Athletics Track, Tiger Wests vice president Peter Harper said the entire team performed well, with a several also achieving personal best results.
Placing second in each of their events, were Rose Harper in the Girls U9 Shot Put (2.0kg) with 5.24m throw; Catherine Pane in the Girls U14 Discus (1.0kg) with a throw of 28.9m; Renato Pane in the Boys U17 Discus (1.5kg) with a 38.77m throw; and Maisy Wright-Smith in the Girls U13 3000m run with a time of 11:06.2.
Harper also finished third in the U9 Girls Discus (500g) and Pane picked up a bronze in the Boys U17 100m Sprints.
Thanking all parents for their support and congratulating the athletes involved, Mr Harper said a number of events were called off due to the high heat and humidity on Saturday, February 1, and rescheduled to the following day
“We got it all done, even if the 3000m races in the evening had to be run in torrential rain,” he said.
