Push for end of violence

REAFFIRMING their dedication to ending domestic and family violence, the Muslim Women’s Association (MWA) in Lakemba hosted a Linking Hearts Ambassador breakfast.

The breakfast was followed by a forum for 30 participants from a range of community organisations and MWA CEO Maha Abdo welcomed those who attended.
The main message of the event was ‘Together we are better’ and Ms Abdo says “linking our hearts is the key towards ending domestic and family violence and working to produce quality support to uplift the dignity of the women”.
The Linking Hearts Ambassador Program is an alliance of men who put their individual and combined resources, knowledge and expertise towards the goal of ending domestic and family violence in Australia.
Former politician and Sky News commentator Graham Richardson is a strong supporter of Linking Hearts and the first to be appointed as an Ambassador.
“We all have a responsibility to end domestic violence and we need to use the platforms we have to make that change,” he said.
Linking Hearts is a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) domestic violence specific service for women and families in Sydney and South West Sydney, providing safe and supported crisis and transitional accommodation.
