State MP for Auburn, Lynda Voltz, joined Canterbury Bankstown Councillor Rachelle Harika (pictured) to announce $50,000 towards upgrading the worn and outdated children’s play equipment at the park, a $40,000 upgrade of Birrong Public School Canteen and $35,000 for a sensory garden for Regents Park Public School.
Ms Voltz said she was delighted with the funding commitment to upgrading the children’s play facilities at Nugent Park.
“This is a great local park, with easy access for families close to the station and shops, but with outdated play equipment,” she said.
“It is the perfect place locally for parents and families to meet.
“A Minns NSW Labor Government will work with the City of Canterbury Bankstown to upgrade these play facilities and give the park a fresh start.”
Cr Harika said it was a great win for the local community.
