Cr Linda Downey said the community had raised significant concerns about the busy and dangerous intersection at Beaconsfield and Albert streets.
“My understanding is they experience near misses daily,” she said.
The problem is two-fold, with many parents accessing and parking in those streets to drop off and pick up their children from the two nearby schools, and residents living in the streets who are frustrated at trying to get access to their street, particularly during the morning and afternoon school peak periods.
“Beaconsfield Street is used by thousands of motorists including large trucks and vans and this investigation is much needed,” Cr Downey said.
Cr Downey said also called on the council to apply for any available grant funding.
Probe roundabout solution at busy intersection
SAFETY concerns about a Revesby intersection could be alleviated with Canterbury Bankstown Council to investigate the feasibility of a roundabout.
