“Here at KU Milperra Preschool, our focus is ‘Building Healthy Minds’, with the aim of supporting children’s developing confidence, agency, resilience, calming and coping skills.
“Our team decided to support ‘Hope in a Suitcase’ to highlight the importance of providing children in out-of-home care with belongings of their own, helping to supporting children’s mental health and wellbeing.”
The theme of the 125 years’ celebration was ‘making a difference through 125 years of social impact and early education’.
“At KU Milperra, we encourage children to be kind and to think of others,” Stacey said.
“We are all very proud of the fact that we are part of KU Children’s Services, providing high quality education and care to children for over 125 years. Being part of an organisation that has so much history and an exciting future, inspires us all to work together to uphold KU’s values and vision and continue to provide a high quality service to our local community.”

Preschool giving ‘hope in suitcase’
KU Milperra Preschool has celebrated the 125th anniversary of KU Children’s Services (KU), the first provider of early childhood education and care in Australia.
The preschool recognised this special milestone by donating to ‘Hope in a Suitcase’.
“Hope in a Suitcase is an organisation that provides children in out-of-home care with a suitcase of belongings they can take with them, to show children they are loved and valued by their community,” KU Milperra Preschool Director Stacey Gabrych said.
