‘Poorly Drawn Pet’ a perfect gift for mum

IF you’re keen to do something weird, wacky and fun for Mother’s Day next month, why not present mum with a memento of her pet and help RSPCA NSW raise funds for animals in need.

RSPCA is asking for a $30 donation per pet in return for a genuine-low-quality ‘Poorly Drawn Pet Portrait’ by volunteers.
Volunteer drawers and painters are being sought this week, with their efforts due on Thursday, May 5, in time for Mother’s Day on May 8.
And it doesn’t have to just be for mum, a ‘Poorly Drawn Pet Portrait’ is a memorable gift for anyone.
However it’s a lucky dip if donors will get an incredibly talented artists in the group or… not.
You can paint, draw, use crayons, digital art – the sky is the limit. You can even trace the picture and colour over it if that’s what you want to do.
“All we ask is that no filters or photo apps be used, we want real drawings, no matter how good or bad,” an RSPCA spokesperson said.
Bankstown’s Rupert Sinniah got involved earlier this month and although, he is not proud of the pet dog drawing he did for another donor, is thrilled with the ‘Poorly Drawn Pet Portrait” of his rescue cat, Claude.
“I volunteered to draw portraits too but you don’t have to, just enter up your details and donate $30 to have a portrait drawn of your own pet by another volunteer,” he said.
“I was pleasantly surprised with the results and Claude and I love our little painting of him.
“It’s just a lovely idea to bring people and pets together and helps the RSPCA at the same time.”
