Cheaper child care a win for thousands of local families: PM

PRIME Minister Anthony Albanese (pictured) dropped into the Uniting Dove Cottage Early Learning Centre with Education Minister, Blaxland MP Jason Clare, to talk about Labor’s Cheaper Child Care plan, and also visited the new Western Sydney University campus last week

Mr Clare said that Friday marked 71 days until cheaper early childhood education and care would become a reality – “providing cost-of-living relief for around 6,800 families in our local area”.
The Australian Government will spend $4.5 billion to deliver more affordable child care, including by increasing Child Care Subsidy rates from July 2023.
“The reforms the Albanese Government is delivering are good for children, good for families and good for the economy,” Mr Clare said.
“The Prime Minister and I also popped into the new Western Sydney University campus in the heart of the CBD, meeting with Vice-Chancellor Barney Glover and Vice President Bill Parasiris, as well as students who have just begun studying at the new campus.”
