Plaza gets $18.8m reboot

WORK has begun on the $18.8 million redevelopment of Bass Hill Plaza shopping centre.

The project will transform the existing centre to provide “a full experience upgrade” with public spaces to include enhanced amenities, a new play area and updated tenancy mix along with a minor expansion of the centre.
A new architectural feature facade and full centre rebrand are proposed as part of the redevelopment works.
ALDI will also be expanded and fully refurbished to the latest standard.
Charter Hall Retail CEO Greg Chubb said the investment would deliver a revitalised centre for the local community.
“Early on in the process, we engaged a number of local community members to provide insights and support in developing a scope of works that will deliver a meaningful difference to the local community,” he said. “We thank the locals for their valuable contribution to this project and look forward to delivering the outcome of a revitalised Bass Hill Plaza.”
Cr Rachelle Harika says the redevelopment is a real boost for local businesses and shoppers.
“This upgrade will ensure that Bass Hill Plaza continues to be a real shopping destination of choice for our local community and I congratulate the centre management for their vision in delivering this great project,” she said.
Works should be completed later this year with minimal disruptions to tenants and shoppers.
