This season has been shaping to be a different tale and the result confirmed that, with the Magpies winning by 38 points.
The players responded after a defeat to Manly last week in the best possible way by coming out and playing the style of football which has them as genuine contenders in 2020.
Best on Ground performance was awarded to Belinda Harrison with special mentions to Rebecca Privatelli (four goals), Lael Kassem, Melissa Freckelton, Jasmine Smith and Meredith Montgomerie.
Inner West Magpies 7.3.45 defeated Macquarie University 1.2.8
Round 4 saw the Inner West Magpies Premier Division men play St George in very heavy conditions in what was a very important game for both teams – who went into the game with a 2-1 win ratio in the shortened nine-week home and away season.
Unfortunately, another slow start by the Magpies saw St George control the majority of the first quarter and head into the break with a two-goal advantage. Losing more ground, the Magpies headed into the main break with a 31-point deficit.
The last quarter was a more even contest and some long-range goals saw the Magpies come out on top with a gutsy come from behind victory by seven points.
Inner West Magpies 11.8.74 defeated St George 10.7.67.
Best Players: Lucas Lam, Josh Zoppo, Will Collis, Josh Robinson, Matt Klemke and Ben Zoppo.
Next up both teams take on UTS at Trumper Park.
