Still within the Plaza but in a different shop which has walk through access to a medical practice with specialist allied health services, the team is excited about the move which allows them to be part of a wider group offering the largest range of goods and services at the lowest prices, according to owner Tracy Alexakis.
Plaza Pharmacy was originally headed by Tracy’s father Gus Minett and they also still operate Minett’s Pharmacy at Chester Hill which he established in 1959.
“We made the move to the new store and re-branded as Chemist Discount Centre, which is nationally headed by three pharmacists, to increase customers’ convenience and accessibility,” Tracy said.
Open seven days and offering delivery as well as a click and collect service, the chemist features a mothercraft nurse on Mondays and Thursdays to discuss baby needs as well as multilingual staff who can assess blood pressure and glucose levels as well as your BMI risks.
“We have the full range of medications, cosmetics and vitamins as well as beautiful perfume packs and toy packs for Christmas,” Tracy said.
“It’s like a lolly shop in here; so much to see and do to keep on top of all of your health needs so come and check out our new store next time you’re visiting at the Plaza.”

AN original tenant when Bass Hill Plaza first opened in 1985, the Plaza Pharmacy has now re-branded and opened its doors last week as the first metro Chemist Discount Centre in NSW.
