Perfect time to buy ‘used’ car

Anthony Motors Padstow salesman John Simpson is encouraging buyers to check out extensive range of used family cars and commercial vehicles.

DON’T wait till the end of the financial year – now is the perfect time to buy a used car, with prices edging down following a soft market last December and less competition about.

The December edition of the Automotive Insights Report (AIR) says the average time it takes to sell a used car is increasing over time – which could mean a discounted price and win for the buyer.
Anthony Motors Padstow salesman John Simpson said that while it is a fantastic time to go used car shopping, it’s important to remember that “you get what you pay for”.
“We’ve got some good, solid deals here and specialise in family cars and commercial vehicles,” he said.
“They’re all in excellent condition with their service history so if you’re looking for a used car, head to Anthony Motors first.”
The sales team at My Car Choice Greenacre agreed.
“Most people are focused on holidays or getting children back to school and don’t have as much to spend because of rising rents and mortgages,” a salesman said.
“So if you’re in the market for a used car, now is the time to make your move; there’s plenty of great deals around.”
Automotive Dealer Association (AADA) CEO James Voortman said petrol and diesel cars made up around 95 per cent of cars that were for sale.
“We are seeing a trend of used vehicles taking longer to sell with December being the second month in a row that average days to sell is over 50,” he said.
The list of top selling cars in the used market closely reflects preferences in the new car market, with the Ford Ranger taking out top spot ahead of the Toyota Hilux.
