People with a disability helped to turn passion into a business

ARE you a person with a disability who would like to pursue a passion further or explore a business idea in a safe place?

The IgniteAbility team looks forward to helping you to facilitate your dreams at a free online workshop on Wednesday, July 5, 12-2pm.
An initiative of Settlement Services International (SSI), IgniteAbility mentor Alexis Klein will help you understand your strengths and challenges and walk alongside you to explore your business idea.
This workshop will give you an understanding of: The difference between a hobby and a business; how to assess the overall strength of your business idea; your role in the business; and the importance of effective business partnerships and how to connect.
“This workshop would suit a person with a disability (including mental health) who has a business idea or who has an existing small business,” Alexis said.
“It’s also the perfect opportunity for someone who is interested in learning about what it takes to run a small business including the areas of identifying your product or service, marketing, financial management and legal compliance.
“Some people will decide to keep their passion as a hobby, to study further, to save more money or just enjoy getting a good understanding of the fundamentals of starting or running a business.”
You can also attend a second workshop if you would like to work further on your business idea or connect with other professionals for help.
