Park upgrade on way after councillor bid effort

COUNCILLOR Karl Saleh OAM is a man on a mission.

The Roselands Ward Councillor’s lobbying for an upgrade of the recreation and playground facility at Ken McLean Reserve at Belmore, has paid off.
Cr Saleh said the playground had passed its use-by date and was in desperate need of an upgrade.
“The play area is looking tired and needs a real spruce up”, he said.
“Hundreds of children come to the park to play and they deserve the latest equipment and rides and want an experience they will never forget.”
In a motion moved by Councillor Saleh, at the council’s last meeting, the play area which was installed about 30 years ago, has now been earmarked to undergo extensive works.
Some of the works to be carried out include new concrete edging and mulch and the installation of four new rides and play items.
Cr Saleh said he would be following the progress of the works right through to completion.
“I will be there when it opens, and I’ll even give the new swings a try,” he said.
