Comprising Sarah Barbrook, Kate Morgan and Kayla Courtin, the team was well supported by members of Padstow Bowling Club’s other team, The Phoenix, with special thanks to their honorary manager Christine Lawson.
Up against a strong team from Mt Lewis Bowling Club – Linda Kim, Sunny Kim and Samir Munro, the final score was 25-12.
Moxon Sports Bowling Club vice president Robyn McBride said the tournament was extra special since it was the first time the bowlers had hosted a tournament since making their move from Roselands Flames Women Bowling Club following the closure of the greens.
“It was a very successful four days with sportsmanship and spirits high though Moxon was not fortunate enough to make it to the final,” she said.
A Padstow Bowling Club spokesperson said: “The District Triples is the first step on the way to the State Triples. While not getting ahead of ourselves, we are certainly looking forward to the next challenge when the regional competition gets underway on June 30.”
