Padstow United FC first minor premiers in decade

SECURING the Minor Premiership for the first time in a decade, Padstow United Football Club has finished first in the Bankstown Premier League (BPL) after being undefeated in 18 rounds of the regular season.

Player Coach Sergio Tarazona said it was a fantastic achievement coming from the commitment and culture of the club, which encourages every player to feel welcome and play for each other.
He said it was his first season coaching and he’s also been playing in the team which has been a unique challenge.
“However, the players made my job easier by believing in my methodology,” he said.
“Despite facing significant challenges during the season, including four major injuries, the team’s courage and discipline never wavered; they stayed focused until the end.
“The support received from team captain John Martinez has been crucial in keeping the spirit of the team high, especially when we needed it the most. Now that we’ve won the Minor Premiership, we’re putting all our effort into winning the league title.”
The Grand Final will be held on Saturday, September 7, at Padstow Park.
