Over 300 honour ANZACs

MORE than 300 people attended a dawn service at Remembrance Park in Lidcombe on Thursday to mark ANZAC Day.

Fifteen-year-old Crystal Naradilek played The Last Post, while Joshua Perry from Trinity Catholic College gave a moving address about Lidcombe locals, the Doodson brothers, who served in the First World War.
The event was followed by a post-service breakfast at Dooleys Lidcombe Catholic Club.

Dawn services were also held at war memorials in Merrylands, Auburn and Granville.
The Merrylands RSL also honoured the Australian soldiers and their families who fell to illness and disability following the ‘great homecoming’ after World War One in 1919.
