More than 100 people enjoyed a range of activities to promote harmony, hosted by Accessible Diversity Services Initiative Limited (ADSI) at Auburn Centre for Community.
ADSI CEO Frank Zheng opened the event, describing the impact of the pandemic on refugee communities and how people managed to settle and integrate in the new country through perseverance and hard work.
Mayor Lisa Lake called on the audience to take a moment to reflect on the rich diversity of cultures in the community, to embrace the diverse art, dance, film, music and food around us and appreciate the significant economic, social and civic contributions that have been made by refugees.
State MP for Auburn, Lynda Voltz, encouraged attendees to approach their local Members of Parliament when assistance was required in housing, transport, immigration or matters relating to State Government.
