Kerry Evans recently transitioned from a Visual Arts Teacher to a Learning and Support Teacher.
To do so, she undertook a large amount of professional learning in her own time, to ensure she could confidently undertake her new role. Kerry has supported students, with a range of physical and cognitive disabilities, as well as students with behavioural issues.
“This has been particularly important during remote learning, where Kerry has continued her individualised support, through almost daily contact, with some of our most disadvantaged families,” East Hills Girls’ Principal Jennifer Hardwick said.
Sarah Gray is an outstanding English teacher who has not only created innovative and engaging online materials, but presented virtual lessons designed to ensure every student experienced success.
She collaborated with her peers to construct outstanding visual materials for her HSC students to ensure the cohort were confidently prepared for their written examinations.
“Sarah’s willingness to support both her students and her colleagues during this time, and when on site, is a feature of her commitment to continually improving her practice for the betterment of our entire community,” Ms Hardwick said.
