‘Unity’ is an arts and empowerment program for girls and gender diverse students aged 10-12 to learn about healthy relationships.
Over two terms they learn singing (pictured), songwriting and performance skills, and write and perform their own song about concepts they’ve learned in the course.
Working group member and Birrong Girls’ High School Principal Zena Dabaja said it was vital to invest in girls.
“By developing their skills to feel empowered, safe and confident in themselves, they can carve out a clear path to supporting each other and demand safety, respect and consent.”
To attend the ‘Unity launch’ online on Thursday, November 4, 4-5.30pm, register at eventbrite.com.
