Op shop offering new helping hand to meet need

ANGLICARE has opened a new op shop in Bankstown to help meet the needs of residents by not only offering bargains on clothes and homewares, but also providing access to a community pantry and Anglicare’s financial support services.

The op shop – at 35 Bankstown City Plaza, Bankstown – shares a combined space with the Bankstown Anglicare Financial Wellbeing Hub, where financial counsellors can provide locals with immediate practical assistance and longer term solutions for their financial future. The Anglicare Financial Wellbeing Hub was formerly located at Liberty Plaza Bankstown.
The shop also features an in-store community pantry, where shoppers can purchase a bag of pantry staples and essential items for $12.
Mayor Khal Asfour, Bankstown MP Tania Mihailuk and Anglicare CEO Simon Miller officially opened (pictured) the shop last week.
