Founded in 2005 by an immigrant family with a mission to bring a taste of home to Sydney and offer a healthy and affordable meal option, Mt Lewis Pizzeria is more popular than ever thanks to son Jason, 26, who made the tough decision to quit his job and revitalise the restaurant’s branding to showcase the vibrant Lebanese culture and dishes on offer.
“The food is amazing, but the branding wasn’t on point,” Jason said.
Turning to TikTok, he became known as the ‘Manoush Man’ with one video of him cooking amassing over 200,000 views.
Another marketing idea that consistently draws a crowd is their $1 Manoush Mondays – Lebanese pizza helping you save your dough (pun intended).
“We’re a family-owned and run pizzeria with a deep love for the art of manoush and pizza making, wanting everyone to feel at home when they dine with us,” Jason said.
As you enter the front doors of the pizzeria, the modern interior reflects the change in management and how Mt Lewis Pizzeria aims to show Australia the hidden gems of Lebanon, highlighting not only the food but also its timeless culture and energetic Lebanese personality.
“Mt Lewis Pizzeria is proud to feature locally sourced, in-house-made dishes that reflect the Lebanese culture’s emphasis on fresh and flavourful cuisine,” Jason said.
Traditional cuisines such as Manoush and Pide are featured in the diverse and delicious menu.
Still, more importantly, the dishes, even today, are made using time-honoured recipes passed down from previous generations for a truly, one-of-a-kind dining experience.
Open seven days a week, 5am-5pm, Mt Lewis Pizza is located at 165 Wattle Street, Bankstown.
