On hunt for Over 45s players as well as mini roos, youth, all ages

REGENTS Park Saints Football Club’s Joseph Ayoub had a lot to celebrate last season – the Under 13s team he coached won their grand final and the Over 45s, in which he plays, was grand final runner-up.

In fact, he had so much fun playing in the inaugural year of the Over 45s, that he is inviting other men to register to play and enjoy the benefits even though he’s already had a few registrations rolling in.
He said there was nothing like playing soccer to keep you fit, healthy and happy.
“I’ve had friends say they wouldn’t be able to last 90 minutes running around on the soccer field however we don’t play like that but instead, most come and play in 10-minute intervals which they say is the best thing to keep your heart strong,” he said.
“Soccer is a non-contact sport so it’s not dangerous and won’t take long to pick up the basics even if you’ve never played before.
“You will be amazed at how quickly your fitness improves and you’ll soon be able to kick the ball around the yard with the kids like a pro.”
Joseph said they started small with only the minimum number of players last year but by the end of the season, numbers had doubled: “We all just got so much out of it and word spread.”
With the team playing at Princes Park, Auburn, and training on Thursday evenings, those interested in joining the family-friendly club and registering for any age group, including mini roos, youth and all age teams, call 0409 919 868 or email regentsparksoccer@gmail.com, with Active Kids Vouchers for $50 expiring on January 31 (you can reapply for a 2024 voucher from February).
