Olympian Dr Pittman inspires future stars

OLYMPIAN, SAS star and now doctor, Jana Pittman has helped inspire young and old at Georges River Grammar’s (GRG) Annual Sports Award evening.

The much sought-after guest speaker and expert at juggling many demands, told students, staff and families about living a goal-driven life as a world champion in Hurdlers and Bobsled, then training as a medical practitioner and obstetrician/gynaecologist while raising six children, including twin babies and now working on a PhD on uterus transplants.
She also speaks at events regularly, in order to give back and inspire the next generation.
GRG Principal Raquel Charet congratulated the Primary Sportswoman of the Year, Olivia Wong, Sportsman of the Year, Zachariah Eid, and said it was great to host the community event after an absence of two years over Covid.
“Jana is possibly the most inspiring woman I have ever met,” Ms Charet said.
“She was lovely to sit and chat to and reignited my own belief that with enough determination and hard work, almost anything is possible.”
Event attendees also farewelled their longest standing staff member, Phil Schaefer, and congratulated all of the school’s athletes in 2022.
