Olympian back at school to spur on

REGENTS Park Public School students are pumped and ready to tackle some serious goals after receiving an inspirational boost thanks to Olympian Jasmine Locke who visited the school earlier this month.

The sprint kayaker’s motivational speech centred around the value of hard work and perseverance, encouraging the young learners to strive for excellence in all their endeavours.
She also provided a practical guide on setting SMART achievable goals, empowering students with the tools they need to turn their dreams into reality.
A SMART goal is an objective-setting technique designed to make goals more ‘specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound’.
A school spokesperson said the students were very excited to have a world champion kayaker in their midst.
“They asked a lot of relevant questions and we’re sure it will help encourage them on to work hard in their studies and on the sporting field,” she said.
