Oliver hurdling way to another gold ahead of taking on world

SETTING a NSW Athletics record and an all-time best, Georges Hall’s Oliver Facer now also holds the Australian All Time record after winning gold at the National All Schools Title in the U16 Men’s 100m Hurdles in Perth in December.

This followed him winning the NSW All Schools Title in Sydney in the U16 Men’s Hurdles in October.
What is interesting about the latest result is that just prior to competing, he had three weeks away from the track while recovering from an injury.
Dad Greg says Oliver will now graduate from the 100m Hurdles at 84cm, to a new challenge this year, stepping up to a hurdle height of 91cm and a distance of 110m.
“He is looking forward to a brief training break before his first competition race in the new year which will be at the NSW Country Championships in Wollongong on January 19,” Greg said.
Coached by Speed and Agility coaches, Steve and Cath Sorojevic, Oliver will then set his sights on the World Junior Championships in Peru in 2025.
Greg, who was a State champion in the 100m Hurdles at the same age, said Oliver was extremely talented and worked hard for his success, training at least three days a week as well as taking part in competitions.
“His mother Anna, brother Zach, 17, who is also a talented athlete and I are excited to see how far he can go,” he said.
