Mayor Lisa Lake said the festival, which celebrated the Iranian New Year, also known as the Persian New Year, was a great success and was “important to help us understand each other’s cultures and help create harmony and a sense of peace and belonging”.
“Cumberland is a very multicultural place … We just love learning about each other and sharing our different cultures,” she said.
