Saigon Place and Anzac Street will be transformed into colourful and festive haunts with lanterns, delicious cuisines, decorative buntings and a giant lantern ox in Bankstown, plus more.
Traditional Lion Dancers will roam through the streets of Campsie today (Friday, February 5), and Bankstown on Friday, February 12, while a Lunar New Year Night Noodle Markets will also be held today (Friday, February 5), 5-9pm, at Anzac Street Mall, Campsie, with celebrations continuing all next week.
Mayor Khal Asfour said he was keen for all the fun to get underway.
“I can’t wait to welcome everyone,” he said.
“The ox symbolises hard work, strength and positivity. It also represents diligence, persistence and honesty, which are all characteristics I proudly see displayed in our community everyday.
“To celebrate Lunar New Year 2021, we’ve got vibrant lanterns and a giant ox on display and community members can look forward to lion dance performances and a spectacular night noodle market in Campsie.
“I wish you all happiness, prosperity and good health during this New Year of the Ox.”

RESIDENTS are invited to celebrate the Year of the Ox in style with City of Canterbury Bankstown hosting spectacular Lunar New Year events at Saigon Place in Bankstown and Anzac Street Mall in Campsie from this week.
