No Lights No Lycra 10th birthday event

RESIDENTS are being encouraged to help celebrate a decade of dancing like no one’s watching at the ‘No Lights No Lycra 10th Birthday’ presented by Medibank and taking place in all major cities nationwide, including Newtown, on Saturday, July 27.

Since its inception, the free-form dance movement has been providing thousands of Australians with a fun and carefree outlet to shimmy their troubles away – in the dark!
No Lights No Lycra Co-Founder Alice Glenn says she is thrilled that 10 years on, their dance movement is making such a positive difference to Australians.
“Physical inactivity and a lack of community connection are two major challenges for our society at the moment, so I am excited to be celebrating our 10-year milestone working alongside Medibank to encourage more Australians to feel happier, healthier and more connected,” she said.
“So put on your dancing shoes and come down to our event in July, which will be free for participants thanks to Medibank’s support of free community events.”
All locals aged from 14 years are encouraged to come along and shake their way onto the dance floor at Newtown Main Hall, 189 Church Street, Newtown, with the family friendly event from 1pm and the main event from 7pm.
There’ll be free giveaways and delicious snacks to help fuel the celebrations.
