In the five years from 2016 to 2020, 14 crashes occurred at this intersection and 16 people were injured, eight seriously.
Tara McCarthy, Deputy Secretary Safety, Environment and Regulation at Transport for NSW, said the new camera would target red light running and speeding to improve safety for all road users.
“Road crashes claimed the lives of 270 people on NSW roads last year with speed the biggest killer and these red light speed cameras will help to reduce risk in Chullora,” Ms McCarthy said.
New speed camera a win
ROAD safety in Chullora will receive a boost with the installation of a new red-light speed camera at the intersection of the Hume Highway and Shellcote Road.
