New primary school could open doors later this year

A NEW primary school being built at Lakemba, could welcome its first students later this year.

The school, at 65-71 Croydon Street, is planned to open in 2022 but depending on the weather it could open for the third term of this year.
Catering for students from kindergarten to Year 6, it will be built over three levels, housing 12 classrooms, meeting rooms, canteen, office, school library, staff room, bathrooms and washrooms.
Al-Faisal College, which has three campuses, was established in 1998 and while teaching mandatory subjects required by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), it also gives students the opportunity to learn the Arabic Language and Islamic Culture.
Co-Executive Principal of the Al-Faisal College, Safia Khan Hassanein, says the college will not only focus on learning but is also committed to encouraging students to reach their full potential by providing them with a broad range of opportunities.
“We offer high quality teaching and learning programs so that hopefully our students have a well-rounded education to meet the needs of the demands of life after their schooling years,” she said.
