Among the completed works are a hand pump for water play, shade sales, accessible paving and new plantings, with climbing net equipment set to be installed over the next few weeks along with additional minor landscaping.
Mayor Steve Christou says the playground can now be enjoyed by everyone, no matter what their abilities are, adding he was looking forward to all work being completed and ready for the official opening next month.
“As the father of twin girls, I think it’s important for our children to play in a park that has no barriers and our play spaces should reflect this,” he said.
