But don’t wait until Christmas to pop in as Poppies is under new management who also own a sea cucumber farm and a dim sim factory, using these products on their menu and are keen to get feedback from local diners.
Poppies manager Mimi Hon says some of these dishes include Traditional Braised Golden Sandfish Sea Cucumber, Golden Sandfish Sea Cucumber Soup, Sea Cucumber Dumplings and Sea Cucumber Fried Rice.
“Sea cucumber is a rare superfood that’s high in protein, low in fat and sugar and cholesterol-free,” she said.
Diners can also take advantage of this week’s special – Lobster Mornay with Chips and Salad – for just $24.80.
Plus all the club favourites are still front and centre such as pasta, pizza, burgers, seafood, grilled steaks and chicken breast, Italian classics such as chicken schnitzel and parmigiana, Asian favourites such as laksa, noodle soups, Pad Thai, Japanese Unagi Don, baked pork chop rice, Cantonese stir fry, handmade dim sims, desserts and a wide range of interesting snacks and sides.
Vegetarian dishes are also available along with a children’s menu.
Only closed on Mondays, Poppies is open from 11.30am daily.
