Netball stalwart Kath farewelled

BANKSTOWN City Netball Association (BCNA) and the NSW netball community are in mourning after the passing of legendary coach and umpire – Kath Fullagar OAM – on June 30.

A Netball NSW Life member and BCNA Life Member and Patron, Kath was a very valued member of the netball community over the years, according to BCNA President Nicole Oram.
Kath was a BCNA representative coach and umpire who went on to become umpire’s convenor for many years.
“She was an amazing coach, umpire and mentor to many, including myself,” Oram said.
Kath also served on various Netball NSW committees in the coach and umpiring ranks.
She was a member of NSW Netball Association Executive Committee, 1984-1993 and a greatly loved member of NSWNA Umpires Committee, 1984-1991.
She was awarded the Anne Clark Service Award 1999 for her services to Netball and awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in the 2014 Australia Day Honours List.
“Kath made a positive impact on so many people’s lives and will be sadly missed by many,” Oram said.
