Nature lovers invite to snap up winning scene

HELPING to celebrate Biodiversity Month in September, Sydney Olympic Park has invited budding photographers to snap up their best in a Nature Photography Challenge.

The competition is open to any professional or amateur photographer who enjoys nature at Sydney Olympic Park, with the leading images to go on public display.
Images will need to be supplied in two categories – I Choose to Care or I Choose to Love.
The I Choose to Care category will be a celebration of volunteers and visitors who look after the Park.
It may be a nod to taking part in activities such as tours, neighbours nurturing nature programs, litter cleanups or surveys.
It could also focus on education such as the junior rangers program or behavioural – keeping dogs on the lead or putting litter in the bin.
In the I Choose to Love category, images should reflect people enjoying the Park – children playing, people sitting quietly, wildlife or whatever helps people connect to nature.
“We encourage people to respect nature and not trample vegetation to get the best shot,” a spokesperson said.
“Also ensure you have permission from any person included in the photo and images taken from drones or of birds, chicks or eggs in or near nests are not permitted.”
The competition closes on Sunday, July 16. Entry details: sydneyolympicpark.com.au.
