Narrow miss for Firsts but Brewers at best

NARROWLY missing a win, Bankstown Sports Women’s Cricket Club (BSWCC) First Grade 144 have gone down to Penrith 6/145.

Best batters were Tahlia Dunne, 27 and Jade Errington 23 with best bowlers including Amy Hunter 1/11 and Angelina Genford 1/17.
Second Grade had a bye.
Third Grade won on a forfeit as Gordon didn’t have enough players.
BSWCC Brewers Shield players won against Southern Swans on Sunday.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Bankstown got off to a strong start with opening batters Ava Gaughan (71 runs/125 balls) and Milla Bruce (21runs/97) creating a partnership. Camryn Harland (40 runs/46) and Zoe Wood (20 runs/35) came in later on to get Bankstown’s total to (4-179).
Bankstown’s opening bowler Camryn Harland (2/9 off 5) and Lily Salter bowled tight accompanied by the rest of Bankstown’s bowling order.
Jess Robertson (1/16 off 10), Ava Gaughan (1/8 off 4), Milla Bruce (1/12 off 5) and Zoe Wood (1/4 off 3 )worked hard to put pressure on the batters.
Bankstown finished the innings, keeping Southern Swans at 7-107.
