Mums rap for White Ribbon event

AS part of the BYDS Respect project, the White Ribbon Central showcase rehearsals are going full steam ahead.

Featuring Respect performances by Birrong, Condell Park and Banksia Road Public schools, an Aboriginal welcome dance by Villawood East Public students and a host of other talented local artists, the showcase is on offer at Bankstown Central on Thursday, July 25, from 6pm.

Taking part in the project will be the Rapping Mums group of Cynthia Ha, from left, Connie Griebe, Turkan Aksoy and Marie McMillan (pictured).

BYDS Director Tim Carroll said: “The message that these women are rapping is simple – men and women are equal and should be treated equally and with RESPECT! This is BYDS’ fifth White Ribbon showcase and we invite all interested people to our showcase to support our desire for a more harmonious and less violent world.”
