With Amir in Year 12 and Zacharia in Year 9 at Birrong Boys High School, Maya says her younger son is coping much better since has much less pressure.
“With Amir, however, it is very stressful for him and for me; they keep postponing the date of the trials so that they can sit for them in the classroom so now it looks like getting underway on August 16 but we’ll have to wait and see,” she said.
“It’s a wonderful school and teachers have been extremely supportive with the online zoom classes, emails, phone calls and texts but at the end of the day, not learning in a classroom is very hard.
“They seem to be going ok but we’ll see when they get back to school how much they have been learning, fingers crossed.”
