Multicultural feast of fun treats at Children’s Fest

THE annual Children’s Festival is coming to Paul Keating Park, Bankstown, on Sunday, September 15.

Festival Founder and President, Thuat Nguyen says festival-goers will again be treated to a spectacular concert of cultural and modern songs and dances performed by children from more than a dozen different backgrounds.
There will be a spectacular parade, international food, lots of kids’ activities and impressive cultural displays, presented by Scottish, Indian, Vietnamese, Cameroonian and Macedonian communities.
The children will be entertained with parachutes, hula hoops, kite making, bubble blowing, moving artists, face painting, lantern making, balloon twisting, bracelet making, bungee trampoline, tug-of-war, colouring-in exercises, an animal farm and costume display.
“This is all about our children, the leaders of tomorrow, demonstrating their appreciation and respect for the diversity of our multicultural society and contributing to harmony building”, Mr Nguyen said.
Winners of the design and writing competitions will be announced following the official opening.
Federal Immigration Minister, David Coleman, Federal Shadow Minister for Regional Services, Jason Clare and NSW Shadow Minister for Youth, Skills and TAFE, Jihad Dib, will be among the guests.
