Much brighter outlook this year

CALLING it a time to reflect on what is important in life and be grateful for what we have, Easter 2021 has a much brighter outlook for millions than last year, says South West Evangelical Church Pastor Dominic Cheung.

“One of the many things to be thankful for is the renewed sense of hopefulness,” he said.
“Easter is ultimately about what took place that very first Easter when Jesus was resurrected from the dead, after dying for our sins, signifying a fresh start for the world.
“Knowing that the world is shaping up to be a better, less scary place than it was 12 months ago and that Easter is a chance for a new beginning, is certainly a reason for families to come together and celebrate.”
Pastor Dominic says last year was particularly stressful for the elderly, the isolated, the vulnerable and children who would have never experienced a world threat such as Covid.
“But the effect of the vaccine rollout has been amazing, with hospital admissions down 90 per cent in the United Kingdom alone,” he said.
“Of course, we got off lightly here but this time last year no one knew what was around the corner.
“Now, we can relax a little and be grateful as we head to a Covid-free world and more.
“I invite families to come to our church this Easter and learn about the ‘more’.”
South West Evangelical Church will hold a bilingual (Mandarin) Good Friday service at 10am and a service (English) at 7pm at its 4 Morgan Street, Kingsgrove, location and Easter Sunday services at 9am (Mandarin), 11am (English) and 4pm (English) at its Bankstown location at 461 Chapel Road.
