FEDERAL MP for Blaxland Jason Clare visited Bankstown Girls’ High School to judge student presentations as part of the NSW Property Council’s third annual Girls in Property program.

Girls in Property is a NSW Property Council initiative to bring together schools, government, universities and business to increase the number of women studying science, technology, mathematics and design.

“This is a fantastic initiative to increase the number of girls studying science, technology, engineering and maths and to increase the number of young women choosing a career in the building and construction industry,” Mr Clare said.

“The program has already delivered fantastic results with one school seeing a 50 per cent increase in female students studying economics and a 100 per cent increase in the number of female students electing to study design and technology.”
