After receiving their first does of the vaccines – Sandilands at Westmead Hospital and Ms Voltz at the Sydney Olympic Park Vaccination Hub – they are urging everyone to get the jab and “help keep our community safe”.
Receiving her first AstraZeneca dose, Ms Voltz encouraged all residents to contact their GP or register through the Department of Health’s Vaccine Eligibility Checker.
“It’s vital that we all keep our community safe and get vaccinated,” she said.
“Even if you don’t have a Medicare card or have limited identification, you can still get your vaccination.”
Sandilands, who received the Pfizer vaccine, says it’s in everyone’s best interest to get the vaccine.
“It’s quick, you’re in, you’re out and then you’re safe. I don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t get it,” he said.
Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) chief executive Graeme Loy says he hopes Kyle’s positive vaccination experience will mean more people from western Sydney will get vaccinated when they’re eligible.
“It doesn’t matter if you’re a breakfast radio host who wants to visit LA or a western Sydney local, everyone is urged to get their Covid-19 vaccination when they become eligible.
“Our health district and frontline staff have worked tirelessly to keep the community safe during the pandemic and now it’s the community’s turn to step up and get vaccinated.”
