‘Mother and Son’ show filming splits shoppers

PADSTOW has been a hive of activity with filming of the all-new ‘Mother and Son’ series taking over the streets and excited shoppers and businesses watching on for the past couple of weeks.

A spokesperson for the ABC said Padstow was one of several locations where two of the country’s most-loved comedians, Denise Scott and Matt Okine, have been filming the remake of the beloved 1980s sitcom ‘Mother and Son’.
Filming will wrap up this month with the new, charming and hilarious eight-part series to be aired later this year.
While one shopkeeper said the shoot was great for the area, another wasn’t too impressed, saying “they just took over… they took up valuable parking spots”.
A council spokesperson said it was excited about the filming but was also aware of one anonymous report regarding a parking breach of the permit and requested the production company address the feedback immediately.
Screen Australia’s Head of Content, Grainne Brunsdon, said the hilarious and relatable series was sure to capture the hearts of Australians as it playfully brought this classic story into a modern Australian setting.
