Most students eligible for Uni place

PUNCHING well above its weight, Birrong Girls High School continues to uphold its fine academic tradition with 16 students gaining a total of 28 nominations on the HSC Distinguished Achievers List.

Eight students achieved an ATAR above 90, with the highest ATAR at 96.5 and 97 per cent of girls eligible for a tertiary placement offer.
As a proudly diverse cultural and linguistic community, with 94 per cent coming from non-English speaking backgrounds, students work collaboratively with their teachers within a high challenge and highly supportive environment to attain above state average results across a range of courses.
“Notably, exceptional results in Advanced English ranked the school as the fourth best public comprehensive school in NSW in that subject,” Deputy Principal Equity Kelly Andrews said.
