Not only has Bankstown District Amateur Football Association (BDAFA) provided a rebate to returning players, most of its clubs have heavily discounted their registration packages after two years of disruptions.
“BDAFA continues to heavily invest back into football community and in 2022, our focus is on growth of the Women’s Premier League,” BDAFA General Manager Leanne Millar said.
Small-Sided Girls registrations have more than tripled in the last two years after a BDAFA investment of around $25,000 over the last three years.
“This year we will be offering stand alone Grade 6 and Grade 7 Girls competitions due to the growth,” Millar said.
“We hope this trend continues and in the future we plan to offer stand alone competitions in each age group for girls and ladies, the same as the mixed competition offers.
“Our new initiative for Ladies Football will be in the Women’s Premier League. Last year we brought the naming of our Division One Ladies in line with our top men’s division, Premier League.”
This year BDAFA has announced a minimum $3,000 prize pool for both Men’s and Women’s Premier League.
“The initiative will hopefully further strengthen this top quality women’s competition in 2022 and we look forward to seeing the competition thrive,” Millar said.
